Pitched partway between multivalent modern Orphic hymnal and satiric devastation of the Internet age’s spiritual emptiness, Divorce Procedures for the Hairdressers of a Metallic and Inconstant Goddess, Justin Isis’ poetry debut, combines discordant rhythms, fragmented multilingual sampling, and deliriously surreal imagery to create a cross-cultural assault on boredom, a pagan invocation of divine progenitive forces: Lawrentian goddesses of the blood glimpsed through a Situationist lens of anarchic eroticism and vandalizing humor.
